Description

Traffic signs are the road signalization, warning commuters how to act safely, and what rules apply at a specific stretch of public road.

According to the Law on basics of traffic safety on roads in BiH from 21.01.2006, public roads must be marked with adequate traffic signs, warning commuters of the danger on a certain road or part of the road, signal speed limits, bans and obligations each commuter has to abide by and give necessary information for safe and unhindered traffic.

The mentioned law, and the Rulebook on traffic signs and signalization on the roads dated 07.03.2007. mandate the type, meaning, shape, color, dimensions and placement of traffic signalization on the roads of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Under the law and the rulebook, traffic signs are:

Technical Specifications

Traffic sign base plate design

Timing LLC, offers a variety of shapes of standard traffic signs complying with requirements and specifications for vertical traffic signs.
There are two types/designs of traffic signs:
1. Traffic sign with a folded flange
2. Traffic sign with an aluminum profile/clamp
Both designs are made from hard aluminum alloys EN AW 3005, EN AW 5251 and in terms of build/design of the traffic sign base plate according to BAS EN 12899-1, both comply with:
1. Fixing pattern – Class P3
2. Traffic sign’s flange form – Class E2

1. Folded edge traffic sign base plate

Traffic signs with a folded flange are mounted without drilling the sign’s base plate. 

These signs have been developed to improve passive safety, as the folded flange has no sharp edges that could cause injury. They are made of single piece of sheet metal, with the build providing maximal rigidity. 

The traffic sign, its design with special focus ono passive safety of pedestrians is suitable for the urban environment and fills all the requirements of modern type of traffic signs. 

Advantages:
- Quick installation without need for special tools
- Easy replacement of an old traffic sign with a new one
- Highly resistant to deliberate damage (vandalism) and accidental damage
- High passive safety
- Easy to handle
- Verified quality.

2. Base plate of a traffic sign with aluminum profile (flange)

Traffic signs are made of aluminum 2 or 3 mm thick (depending on the dimensions) with aluminum profile reinforced flange (“U” profile TIMING 27).

Traffic signs with aluminum profile, and clamps made of aluminum complete the system based on the same material.

Depending on size, which dictates the thickness of the sheet metal ( 2 or 3 mm), the traffic signs with profile have reinforcement on the back side giving this type of sign additional rigidity and sturdiness. Reinforcements also have aluminum profile that are mounted onto the base of the traffic sign with aluminum clamps.

Retro reflecting foils

Retro reflecting traffic signs are products providing vital information about the road and the way o adapting you driving to the road conditions, about which the drivers must be informed as well as possible.
TIMING LLC takes full responsibility for informing the commuters as well as for the quality of retro reflecting traffic signs, through the use of micro-prismatic reflecting foil, that not only fulfill all the quality requirements, but provide above-norm values in every performance category (retroreflection class RA1-RA3) 

During the build, TIMING LLC only uses the foils of a renowned manufacturer 3Mtm, namely:
1. 3Mtm EGP (Engineer Gradetm Prismatic) reflecting foil with retroreflection Class I
2. 3Mtm HIP (High Intensitytm Prismatic) reflecting micro-prismatic foil with retroreflection Class II
3. 3Mtm DG3 (Diamond Gradetm) reflecting micro-prismatic foil with retroreflection Class III.
